Is the mind a good thing or a bad thing?
My full intention when I started my blog was to show the Kansas and American society that not all Republican care about the social issues, were not bat shit crazy, crazy Topeka church people. Not every Republican out their agrees and likes Sam Brownback and so on down the food chain. I was fully prepared to call out bullies and show people for their true colors, but then I realized that makes me a bully just like them. Will I still post regarding the shenanigans going down in Topeka, you bet your sweet ass I am, But at the same time we need to focus on the positives out there. We need to restore our faith in humanity, see the good in people and the good some people are doing.
So while yes you will see my off the charts complaining and ranting about these bullies, I will also be addressing good things happening in Kansas, my only fear is once again the negative will out weigh the bad.

I guess Why....
Why am I a Moderate? Actually for the longest time I was not aware that I was one!
I thought I was a Republican, 100% all the way. And for the most part I am actually still 100% Republican, as I like to look at it , others have changed.
Since when did the Republican Party switch to being the social saviors of the world?
From the beginning for me I was raised as a Republican, the values of the Republican party were instilled in me. Wasn't the party founded on Fiscal Issues - regarding smaller government, lower taxes, etc.
I am seeing a major swing to the far right insane get in your face crazy! Its making the party look like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off, fish flopping on the bank! Do "they" not realize how they are making this GRAND OLE PARTY look?! Holy Hell people wake up, look in the mirror. The State of Kansas is the worst - leaving me again once ashamed.
As I see it, here in Kansas, their are 4 parties, yep that right I said 4!
We have the Democrats, yep from what I have seem one United democrat party (if they are cutting each other off at the knees, I have not seen or read it)
Then their is the 3 Part Republican Party
1 - The Moderate, Rinos, Traditionalist.... (I have heard them all)
2 - Conservatives
3 - Tea Party, Ultra Conservative
Wow - We Rock, in the small state of Kansas, we have managed to take the party and split it 3 ways. I have never seen a group of adults (yes I say adults because you have to be 18 to vote) be so off the charts ruthless.
I am going to say this bluntly and in my opinion from what I witnessed, the Conservatives completely blasted every non believer of their ways during the primary, to further prove my point, even if the moderate lost the primary seat - some of those conservatives, could not and would not let it go.
After the Primary, I was deeply ashamed and disappointed in how they were still reacting, mud slinging and just flat out being Bullies!!!
So I have come to the conclusion of why I am a PROUD moderate, I am a moderate because I will always stand for the Republican fiscal ways but I am also proud enough to let people live their way and have their beliefs, do I understand some of them? No, but its not for me to.

Intro to a Moderate in Kansas
I guess I decided to write this blog as a way to reach out to people in the state of Kansas. I am a native Kansas, will be for life.
I love the fact we have 4 beautiful seasons, lakes, fields, meadows, rolling hills.
What has me tore up about this state is the political backstabbing, lying, cheating, two faced people who claim to be Republicans.
I myself am a Republican, I am proud to be one. But I guess I do not fit the mold of typical Kansas Republicans anymore. So I will now refer myself as a Rhino.
Ehh, I am ok with because I know believe any true old school GOP Republican is a Rhino. Beliefs on limited government and lower taxes. Not all these social issues!!
Does it honestly keep people awake at night, thinking about gay marriage, abortion? Shouldn't the hard working folks of Kansas be more concerned with jobs, taxes, schools, farming, businesses?
I guess because of how this last election showed during the primary and general it does! That is sad, horrible and makes me ashamed.
I will post my thoughts only on this blog. My opinions and how I came to them. I will not tolerate bullying, Hell their was enough of that in the election. If you do not like or agree with me, thats your choice, but beware - attacking one person for how they feel, shows how closed minded you are. I by no means will turn down a debate, but attacks I will.
